LEE MILROY - SHORT BIOGRAPHY
was written for the exhibition

Lee Milroy is an artist who is now concentrating on her childhood passion for painting and art.

She enjoyed using watercolours in her painting in her early days as an artist after leaving school. However, the demands of a more ‘practical’ lifestyle and the need to earn a living obliged her to put her creative efforts on hold.

After many years of working in nursing, Lee did a Grad Dip Ed, teaching Secondary English and History, following with a Master’s degree in which she studied early Greek and Etruscan Art and early Christian iconography as part of her Thesis, meanwhile establishing her own business, teaching computer skills, graphic art and multi-media.

Lee has managed to combine her love of images with her skills in technology by creating graphics as part of her computer-based business which also assists in using and manipulating images as a basis for her artworks.

She is now concentrating on traditional art and painting. She enjoys painting wildlife and other natural subjects such as horses, dogs and especially birds and landscapes.

She has had exhibitions at the Armidale Art Gallery (New England Art Society) in 2007 and 2011. Lee has also exhibited in Uralla in 2013 with proceeds going to CanAssist after a time off for Cancer treatment and has had various works in the Uralla Rotary Art Show over the years since returning to painting.
